Indic Writer

Typing Indian languages in Joomla was not so easy.

This module converts Roman characters to their phonetic equivalent in 9 Indian languages including Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Persian, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Oriya.

There are 2 different modules. Each module uses different APIs.

• Indic Writer based on Pramukh Library
• Indic Writer based on Google Transliteration API

Both modules are written to produce same result. You can use any of them. But both modules have their own limitations.

- Pramukh library does not work with editor while Design Mode is turned on (but works fine if you toggle it to HTML mode)

- Google API works only if you are connected to the internet.
